Focused, methodical and systematic: Official certification of the quality management at VERS
VPI European Rail Service GmbH (VERS) has been certified according to ISO 9001:2015 since the start of July. After an extensive audit, the certification body SystemCERT confirmed that the publisher of the European Maintenance Guide (VPI-EMG) operates with a quality management system that fully satisfies the required standards. The subsidiary of VPI was founded two years ago and acts as a platform for bundling the services of the association. “As entities in charge of maintenance (ECM), our customers must satisfy the highest safety requirements. We at VERS strive for a correspondingly high standard of quality for our offerings, with which we support ECMs in this task,” stress VERS managing directors, Joachim Wirtgen and Heiko Radke. “We are therefore very pleased that the quality management system we have established has now been certified.”
The VPI-EMG published by VERS is considered a Europe-wide standard for the maintenance of wagons and is now used by roughly 489 companies. In addition, VERS carries out technical assessments of workshops to confirm the ability to operate according to the VPI-EMG. The portfolio of the two-year-old service company also includes offerings such as a training programme on all aspects of the GCU as well as technical railway subjects and assuming leadership of consortiums for obtaining national and European subsidies.
